Something To Think About

A lot of artists have asked me what does it take to get started in putting out your own project. Since I'm a music artist I can only speak from this view point, though I suppose things can actually apply to other artistic fields.

First and foremost, it is a commitment. If you are one of the lucky ones to get financial backing, then things are relatively easy for you. However, if you're one of the vast thousands (like me) that are inspired to create and would like to share your creation with the rest of the world but have no money, no promise of extra cash.....well, first welcome to the world of independent artistry and realize that you are making a commitment to not only the piece or project you are creating but to yourself.

Give in to the idea that comes to you. Write it down. Sketch it out, record that melody line. When you do it the first time, it opens the door to a new idea.

when you begin putting the ideas down or recording them, a commitment is made, a marriage and partnership with the artistry that you were born with has been created.

you will find that all human beings are born with a creative gene. This is because we come from the Creator and we are made in the Creator's image....so take the bull by the horns and be everything you can be and create.

As long as it does not endanger others or yourself, the sky's the limit!

until the next time.....
